Year in Review 2024

It’s been a year of ups and downs and sometimes merry-go-rounds. 2024 was a great year for opening doors, making strong connections and strengthening our foundation for future growth. Thank you for all your support !

Proud Supporters

Dragon’s Den Audition

Scotia Kelp Products had the incredible opportunity to present our business and vision in an audition for the Dragons' Den. We showcased our innovative kelp-based products and shared our passion for sustainable practices. The producers were captivated by our commitment to environmental stewardship and the versatility of kelp. Their invaluable feedback bolstered our confidence and provided us with guidance as we continue to expand our reach and impact.

Black Cultural Centre

African Heritage Month Gala

Hosted by the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, this gala celebrated Black Presence in Arts and Culture. We were honored to be recognized as Nova Scotian artists and have the opportunity to exhibit pieces from Kinsart's canvas art during this event.

Founded In 2018, Darron Hill and Kenneth Sabean started their company, Kinsart, offering natural images on canvas. In 2021, we published a book called The Fine Art of Minerals, displaying a collection of compelling images of minerals found on the shores of Nova Scotia. Kinsart is redefining art by uncovering the extraordinary beauty hidden within ordinary minerals, transforming the unseen world of microscopic mineral structures, into unique works of canvas art. Explore our galleries at Kinsart.ca, and take advantage of our grand opening holiday specials. We hope you Like, Follow and Share.

Team Work Cooperative

Team Works support over the years has been the mortar of our business foundation. Connecting skilled employees with employers, supporting all people on their journey toward accessible employment and encouraging inclusive workplaces for all Nova Scotians. Thanks for all you do.

Asokewin Friendship Centre

 “Inspire Inclusion” Women’s Wellness Retreat

Scotia Kelp believes in the power of celebration and empowerment, and were excited to support this remarkable retreat. Through their 4 Elements outdoor adventure based mental wellness program, the Asokewin's Friendship Centre in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta hosted their first International Women’s Day “Inspire Inclusion” wellness retreat.

It was a joyous occasion dedicated to promoting women's well-being and fostering community. It is through activities such as this that can create lasting change and foster an environment where women thrive.

Scotia Kelp also supported Asokewin’s Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirited Conference by supplying our signature product for their gift bags. We had the honor to compliment these provincial and national events providing  our natural product from the land that supports wellness outside and within.

Ecology Action Centre

Scotia Kelp Products was delighted to join fellow cultivated kelp enthusiasts from across Atlantic Canada for the Kelp Kurious Kelp Fest 2024, hosted by the Ecology Action Centre in collaboration with Perennia Food and Agriculture Cooperation and the National Research Council Canada. This event was an unforgettable celebration of kelp farming, innovations, and Atlantic Canadian kelp products. It provided the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, taste exceptional culinary kelp creations and explore the vast opportunities within the kelp industry. We were educated about the policies, initiatives, and advancements that are shaping the industry and took part in engaging discussions with experts and industry leaders, discovering the exciting potential for growth and sustainability in the kelp sector. We are looking forward to Kelp Fest 2025 !
